Jodi Arias copies or traces other people's work

The spokesman for The Maricopa County Sheriff's Department said it is not clear whether or not Jodi Arias copied and/or traced these photographs.  He said it is not clear who did these.

Just have this to say:
If you think she traced them, I dare you to trace them like she did, and put up your work and hers side by side for comparison, and we'll be the judges of who is better at "tracing"

artists use references all the time. the pictures aren't perfect copies so they don't look traced

If a picture is traced, then positioning and proportion do not change between the photo and the drawing. Proportions and positioning in Jodi's pieces do shift around compared to the original photographs, so she did draw these by eye.

What I notice: These aren't copied, but mostly, it looks like she attempted to copy. When it comes to drawing humans, she seems to draw a lot of hands (although you'll have to look at her website to see just how many hands there are) and they all look odd. Her celebrity portraits look kind of odd too, but portraiture is so dastardly difficult to master WITHOUT resorting to tracing that it's hard for me to come down on her for that. But I do recognize the people.

When it comes to her pictures that do not feature people, I think that most of those look good.

Her work reminds me of what I see when high schools have student art shows. Art lessons could go a long way were she to get access to them.

You are actually coming down on her artwork because of who she is. You would be fair to come down on her for the heinous thing she DID, but pointing out that her drawings look a lot like her reference material is not only not fair -- it isn't even real criticism. Most people CAN'T do even that much...at all.
