Is Hodi's Appellant Fund set up like a charity since both are based on "donations" without any transfer of goods?

The charitable organization states:  Federal tax law requires that we give you this receipt to substantiate your charitable deduction.  What kind of "Appellant Fund" does Hodi have where "donations" made to it can't be used for tax deductions from those that donate to it without receiving goods?  Hodi stated that no profits from the sales of the "survivor tee shirts, the Hodi bands, or the "artwork", are going into the Appellant Fund.  Wouldn't the Appellant Fund, since Hodi and her $camily are asking for "donations" for that fund be similar to a charitable cause?

Everyone that runs a business, as Hodi stated that she runs a business, knows that a person that operates a business has to pay taxes on the "sales" of that business.  Is Hodi's aunt $ue or $camily paying taxes on the sales to Hodi's "work," the Hodi bands, and the survivor tee shirts that were/are being sold online?
