Defense attorney, Kirk Nurmi, accused Det. Flores of trying to destroy evidence. Nurmi accused Prosecuting Attorney, Juan Martinez, of having knowledge of what Nurmi is accusing Flores of allegedly doing.
Nurmi didn't only accuse Flores and JM of misconduct but he goes beyond that and states that the death penalty should be removed from the table and that the First Degree Murder conviction should be dismissed against hodi.
Part of his feeble attempt to discredit Flores and JM is posted below.
This is not Nurmi's or Willmott's first case. Ignorance is no excuse for the defense team to break the law.
It appears that the defense team is trying to "mislead/confuse" the jury and the public by trying to use this retrial of the sentencing part of hodi's case to present it like they would a trial to determine innocence or guilt or an appeal. Hodi was found guilty of First Degree Murder. The so-called judge, SS, has been allowing things that have nothing to do with hodi's mitigating factors to be admitted into court by the defense.
Some people, that support "Justice For Travis," are hoping that judge SS gets removed from continuing to be the judge for the retrial of the second phase of this trial because SS doesn't seem like she's competent enough to handle this case.
Hodi was convicted of first degree murder in 2013. Her defense has had over a year to be ready to present their case(mitigating factors) and to make sure that their witnesses are ready. Taking into consideration all of the "delay tactics" that SS has allowed the defense, another Judge could be appointed, and a sentence could be carried out a lot faster.
The continuing torture that Travis's loved one's are going through, not knowing what delay tactic that the defense will ask for and be granted, needs to stop! Hodi is not a victim! Travis's family have Constitutional Rights too that should not come behind a female that murdered their beloved brother.
