"The time is drawing nigh and the curtains shall close soon as the history books swallow this in time. We believe that good can win over evil. We believe in our justice system despite those who think the rights of a murderer are more important than our rights. We pray every night for a family to begin the process of healing by the closing of this door.
We do not do secret trials in this country and we do not close the doors to the public. Our rights are as important as the defendant and we have a right to communicate our thoughts on pen and paper, just as one might have a right to sing outside the courtroom." - Paul Sanders
Kirk Nurmi has demanded that JSS kick out of the media room and the gallery 3 or 4 people who were heard to be singing "La Cucaracha" in front of the AZ Maricopa County Courthouse. Apparently, Maria De La Rosa was walking by, heard them singing this great Mexican folk song, and she immediately took offense. She ran into the courtroom, and complained that she was being "racially harassed" by these singers. Nurmi howled that he wanted the perpetrators of this unacceptable (according to "Smuggler's" own angry eyes) song-fest to be removed right then and there. JSS said that she didn't know the facts, but would need to hold a hearing in order to decide upon what to do. Talk about a Nervous Breakdown!
My goodness, this exaggerated incident couldn't be more absurd... more silly & time-wasting... and worst of all, more defamatory as well as inflammatory mind-games by a bitter-and-twisted defense team, and a supercilious and unwise judge, who has lost all perspective about what is important here, during this so-called "final penalty re-trial":-- i.e. namely Justice 4 Travis, and ergo, seeing to it that Jodi Arias is finally sentenced, as we approach a year and nine months, after the hung jury, in May of 2013. Why has this innocent song-fest been so over-blown completely out of proportion? Are the "cane lady", Mikal-Ann, Kathy, and others who are passionate advocates for Justice 4 Travis going to be punished because they are not amongst some of the more obedient "lap-dogs" who pander to the DT in order to garner access to their leakages?
Nobody with any decency and sensibility at all would contest that racial prejudice and/or other bigotry is absolutely wrong; and that if a person had called Juan Martinez by "vertically-challenged", as Jodi Arias has done; or if a person had called a blogger by "retard", as Maria De La Rosa has done, that they should be condemned. Had somebody called another person by a demeaning name in the courtroom, then they should be reprimanded and removed right away; but, if a person actually yelled a derogatory slur outside of the courtroom, should this disrupt the trial proceedings? WOW. If that's what JSS allows, then anybody could trigger a delay by screaming "Cougarlicious" at Maria De La Rosa's car as it drives into the parking lot. And yet, nobody did any such thing!
JSS should have advised Maria De La Rosa to grow-up and get over it. Life goes on. She was not hurt, not really... but, it did give JA & Co. an opportunity to twist & warp the event out of proportion, which has become a way of life in JSS's courtroom. For what reason? Well, JSS and Nurmi probably are not thrilled to have been slapped down by the AZ Supreme Court last Tuesday, February 10th, when the higher court upheld the Court of Appeals' decision denying the unconstitutional game-playing, via wrongly allowing Jodi Arias, a convicted murderer to testify in secret. Hence, thereafter, how could JA & Co. punish those media & public trial watchers whom they dislike? Simple. Charge them with some trumped-up offense, and have them removed from the courtroom or the media room. That also would result in the added benefit, from their quasi-fascist standpoint, of intimidating the remaining reporters & trial watchers into becoming more sheep-like and more deferential to this appallingly bad judge, as well as to this unethical defense team, and, to this malevolent psycho-butcher.
It's a disgrace. And, if JSS does ban these folks from the courtroom or the media room, then conscientious citizens should file complaints immediately by calling and/or writing to the AZ Judiciary & the AZ Commission on Judicial Conduct. This simply is not done in our country! We the People deserve better than these never ending cynically-devised antics we've seen from JA & Co. for over a year now. Generations of our brave men & women have fought and died in order to uphold the precious protections for our Freedom of the Press and for our public's right to speed & transparency in our criminal justice system, as laid down in the US Constitution. We cannot let Jodi Arias, her unscrupulous defense team, and/or this incompetent, biased, and corrupt judge to trample our rights asunder, in their zeal to save this brutal butcher's worthless life. Nor, should we accept these never-ending costly side-shows, which divert time & attention away from the reason that this sentencing phase exists:-- namely, to enable the jury to decide upon the Death Penalty or Life for this savage murderer, Jodi Arias.
By the way, "La Cucaracha" (The Cockroach) is a beloved Mexican Folk song, and the reference to "la cucaracha" was slang for "marijuana", back in the days of the Mexican revolution in 1910 and well into the 20th century. There is no "racial harassment" inherent in this song, unless one cynically seeks it out, as this disgusting DT have done purposely, imo, for their own nefarious aims. Sounds to me as though Nurmi & De La Rosa might be suffering from nervous breakdowns, as well as having a lot of anger issues. Hopefully, JSS isn't so stupid as to fall for this umpteenth scam by JA & Co. to engineer more quasi-secret trial proceedings:-- but she never should have entertained this bogus complaint anyway, and let's pray that no unconstitutional action will be taken to start removing Twitter Reporters & the Public from bearing witness to this rigged re-trial; for whilst it is farcical, We the People still have the right to bear witness to these events, in order to ultimately see Jodi Arias sentenced to Death or Life. Viva Justice for Travis!!!
